I will be speaking about Dorkbot at a Creative Sydney event on Wednesday June 10th at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. The even is entitled Come Together: The New Creative Networks. It features a selection of people who are heavily involved in a variety of different local creative networks. We will be discussing the benefits of getting involved and the growing communities. I presented the ins & outs of my Voice Mask project at Dorkbot-Syd this week. Had some problems configuring the bluetooth innitially but luckily infront of the best audience in Sydney! We all had a nice joke around and then got to business. THEY LIVE 's proposal to perform a 7 minute remix of John Carpenter's classic film "They Live" has been accepted into the Night Time program. "NightTime 2009 is a platform for short works by artists across all mediums – performance, sound, new media, visual art and live art." For this month's Dorkbot meeting on Tuesday the 26th of May at 7:30pm, I will be doing a demonstration of my Voice Mask.

Dorkbot is a regular monthly meeting for "people doing strange things with electricity". I will be showing how the mask was technically constructed and demonstrating it's capabilites and discussing my hopes and aims to develop it further.

I will be performing with the Voice Mask and some members of My Orchestra of Machines on the night of Wednesday, May 20th at Tape Projects in Carlton, Melbourne. I will be improvising with instrument builder James Hullick on his robotic instrumental automata.The show is part of a series of monthly evening performances curated by Amelia Douglas and Albert Mishriki that have been happening since the beginning of the year. The premise is to bring two instrument builders together that have not performed together and see what they will come up with. Some of my favorite Australian artists have performed at previous shows like Rod Cooper and Ross Manning. I am very excited to be a part of this event.
